The classroom is located in the Pediatric Day Hospital Unit on the 6th floor, in the new wing. Besides having a classroom, there is also a room used for different therapies (art therapy, music therapy, animal therapy and more). The classroom is equipped with computers, games, books and more. The educational staff works with each child individually according to his/her needs.
There are also group activities. Children coming to the Pediatric Day Unit, usually spend there a few hours because most have to undergo blood tests and then have to wait for the results.

Work objectives of the Pediatric Day Hospital Classroom:

1. Studying with a child in order to prevent him from falling behind in his studies. Enriching knowledge.
2. Working with a child while waiting for the doctor or nurse, makes the wait easier for them and for their parents.
3. Indulging in different activities helps reduce anxiety before treatment.
4. Working with chronically ill children on a regular basis.
5. Group activities help bond children with similar difficulties, helps create an environment which enables conversation, exchange of information and encouragement.
6. Information and guidance regarding the rights of sick children.

Activities that take place in the unit:
We provide a solution for children who have a long wait in a place that is unfamiliar and for some, scary. We try to create an environment that is relaxing and calming. We do this by having different activities throughout the week. The smells from our baking and cooking workshop spreads through the unit and remind the children of home. There are workshops for developing a healthy lifestyle. There is a weekly robotics workshop sponsored from the organization of Kav Or. We have a group activity of photography and each year the pictures are added to the collection from previous years.
There is a yearly conference on juvenile diabetes. Different seminars and activities take place during the year in order to learn more about the disease. Positive experiences enables positive interaction between the child and his family and between the child and his peer group.
The educational staff are in touch with the chronically ill children's schools and when needed have meetings with them which is attended also by the child's doctor.
